Pavers & Natural Stone Patios

What is the function of the space? Cooking, entertaining, extra living space that is an extension of another indoor room.

Square footage of the patio would be determined by how much space is available and what that space will be used for.

Pattern

1. Natural stone pattern is determined by choice of a modular product or an irregular one. Irregular stones will be set in a random pattern while a modular product will be set in some geometric pattern, some geometric patterns depend on what sizes of the product are available. (See pattern guide)

2. For manufactured products patterns can range; Standard 4” x 8” recs. Have a few standard patterns; Herringbone at a 45 degree, Herringbone at a 90 degree, basket weave, Running Bond, and Stacked Bond. (See pattern guide)

Edge restraint is one of the most important parts of your patio. If your paver restraint is not secure your pavers will become loose.

Is the grade where the patio will be installed level? If not; retention will be required to either raise the grade to the level of the new space or retain the soils that are higher than the proposed patio space.
