Walkways

Is it a main pathway with a great deal of traffic or is it a pass through that does not get a whole lot of use?

If the path is the main entry point of your home you will want to think about scale and the size of entry way the home as already. If you have a small home you are not going to want a grand entry way, this would look out of place, the same goes for a large home. General rule of thumb is to make the walkway wide enough for two people to walk down it comfortably without falling off.

If the walkway is not utilized often then a more reasonable path of gravel would be more economical.
